Hello all. I'm having a problem with creating an account. After I installed the game, it started normally and I hit "create account" it asks me to put in the registration code, but it keeps telling me it's wrong.

I've tried ALL variations I can think of and it's getting old, fast. I've changed 8's to B's, 1's to I's, etc... I scratched off that covering to reveal the Reg Key and all of the letters are clearly visible.

This is all on top of the fact that it took me nearly all day just to get the game (everyone was sold out except one Gamestop about 30 miles away).

My question is: Are there any characters that are easily mistaken for others? Is there something I'm not doing?

Please, if anyone can help I'd gladly appreciate it as I'm eager to start playing.

In a situation like this, there is nothing any of the forum members can do to help you fix this problem. An incorrect CD key is something you should contact the Guild Wars Support team about. Go onto the GW site, look through the knowledge base and if you still can't find an answer - then contact them through "Support" > "Ask a Question".

It seems like you are doing everything right with your CD key (have you tried replacing "O"s with "0"s and vice versa?) and I hope you get this fixed.

Yeah, I asked for help from the support site before coming here. I was just hoping there was some quick solution for it.

I'm not sure what's going on... There aren't any 0's... and the letters seem to be bigger than the numbers, so it must be 1's and not I's. I can't figure it out at all.

I just disabled the firewall in case it may have had some problem connection to the authorization server or something, but that had no effect.

Ok guys, I feel stupid, lol.

I got a glass and put it over the Access Key and noticed that an 8 was actually a 6. I swear with my non-seeing eyes I could barely tell the difference. Anyhow, I'm not in game yet but I did get passed that part. Thanks!

Don't feel bad, I think I had to enter my key a good 5 to 6 times. They really should make things like this easier to read.

Lol, it could have turned out much worse (i.e. you really did get an invalid key, GW team doesn't respond, the store isn't exchanging your purchase and so on...)
